KHANTY-MANSIYSK, Oct 30 (PRIME) -- An oil depot in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous District belonging to Rosneft caught fire on Tuesday injuring three people, an official of the local emergency services told PRIME.

“A warning that one of the reservoirs had depressurized and caught fire came at 3:25 p.m., local time (1:25 p.m., Moscow time)… Now both are on fire. One of them is filled with oil, which is preliminary information, the second with emulsion. There is no threat of spread, a rescue team is putting it out,” the official said.

The fire area is about 1,000 square meters, the spokesperson said, adding that the depot location is in 200 kilometers away from the city of Nizhnevartovsk.

An official of Nizhnevartovsk Oil and Gas Producing Company, affiliate of oil major Rosneft, said that the depot was part of its Khokhryakovskoye deposit and that the depressurization occurred during scheduled maintenance works by a contractor.
